Berechnung der Wertepaare von mittlerer Anomalie und Umlaufzeitintervall

Zur Veranschaulichung der Berechnungen, die Kepler wegen der Transzendenz seiner Gleichung durch­führen musste, um den Planetenort zu jeder Zeit seines Umlaufes bestimmen zu können, nehmen wir einen hypothetischen Planeten an, der sich auf einer Ellipse mit den Halbachsen a = 100 und b = 75 Längen­ein­heiten mit einer Umlaufzeit T von 200 Zeiteinheiten bewegt.

Wir erzeugen je eine Tabelle für alle Werte von 0° ≤ E ≤ 360° (die beiden linken Spalten; der Über­fsicht­flich­fkeit wegen in Bogengrad statt wie Kepler im Bogenmaß) nach der Formel M(E) = E - (e ⁄ a) · sin E, und eine zweite für alle Werte von 0d ≤ t ≤ 200d (die beiden rechten Spalten) nach der Formel M'(t) = (t - t0) ⁄ T · 360°. Dann schauen wir, welche Paare von M'(t) und M(E) übereinstimmen (hier farbig her­vor­ge­hoben); die Kommastellen von E kann man in einem zweiten Schritt zur genaueren Übereinstimmung berechnen). So findet man die zu einer Zeit t gehörende exzentrische Anomalie E.

So findet man für den 5. Tag des Umlaufs M'(5) = 9,00 zunächst das zugehörende M(9,0) = 8,9, das im zweiten Schritt mit Verkleinerung der Schrittweite von E in der Tabelle M(9,1) = 9,00.
